The Langa has endless surprises for history and culture lovers. Go for a walk in this region’s capital, Alba, a small city with two thousand years of history that preserves with cure the old churches and many of the medieval towers that have named it as “the city with hundred towers”. It is a must see site in which you can start discovering the artistic and architectural treasures of this part of the Piedmont.
Almost every town nearby has an old village that is worthwhile a visit; we cannot list just a few of them without leaving apart others that deserve the same attention as well. Some of them had a main role in the Piedmont and Italian history, others are writers and celebrities hometowns, and others simply have beautiful architecture or are located in suggestive areas with astonishing views. Last but not least, there are many castles and fortresses built in different historical moments that have been transformed into museums, art galleries and are home of temporary art exhibitions.
